Summary: Shell seems bulky. The exhaust vents and design of the liner allow higher than average noise levels. Rotating visor can only be used in the on or off positions.

HJC, the world’s largest helmet company, have launched their popular FS-10 full-face helmet in a new carbon fibre shell option.

Predominantly the use of carbon fibre is largely associated with racing and sports riding, but by utilising this lightweight material on a sports and touring helmet, HJC have found other benefits in aiding rider comfort after long durations in the saddle.

HJC FS-10. Helmet with Integrated sunshield. I have and use one regularly. The design is cool and for the most part it works without fogging. However, I'm used to my Oakley e wires with the polarizing lenses. The integrated sun shield does not cut the mustard on optical clarity or whatever the hell it is that makes Oakley's so great. If Oakley made an insert lens for the

I love HJC , i used to have an off-road one a few months ago for my XR650R
and it was really comfy, i also just got the HJC FS-10 (Solid Black) yesterday from
Honda also, its amazing for a road helmet, it has everything a rider needs like
vents, leather inner padding,an internal visor (shades) which u can use even if
ur external visor is shut, check it out, for 70KD its really great and also the
shell is made out of kevlar and fiberglass…also the salesguy (Borhan) gave
me an additional black visor for free! hmm and it comes with a cool

Just some thoughts after using this for about 5-6 rides.

My helmet background, my only helmet for about 6 years was an Arai RX7-3RR (I think this equates to the Corsair in the current line up). For the past year or so I have alternated, the Arai for commuting to work and a Shoei RF-1000 for the weekends (this helmet has wired speakers).

To prevent me from leaving my sunglasses at one more store, I was very excited to see the Scorpion EXO 1000 announced with the built-in sun visor, but got tired of waiting and waiting and waiting.

While the HJC FS-10 is one of the most expensive HJC helmets, it offers riders some great features that other helmets don’t. Probably the most exciting feature of the FS-10 is the inner Sun Shield. This shield acts as built-in sunglasses for the helmet, removing the need for a tinted face shield. The Sun Shield is also easy to put up and down in the helmet, an advantage if going through shaded areas or tunnels.

Many owners of the FS-10 praise the visor removal system. It is one of the easiest and quickest systems on a helmet, making changing the visor very convenient. Another great feature on the FS-10 is the helmet liner. Called “Silver Cool” this liner is said to be moisture-wicking and antibacterial. Great for riding in heat.

One complaint is of the small vents, which don’t allow much air flow through the helmet. Here’s where the “Silver Cool” liner is a real advantage. Not too many complaints on noise. Seems to be about the same as most other helmets on the market. The lack of a Snell rating also discourages some from making the purchase, but the helmet is DOT approved.
