epinions.com Review on HJC CL-SP Helmet

Two face shields up for this helmet !! (CL-SP )
Pros
Safety, Comfort, Style, Top Vents

Cons
Fogging (as expected), Face Shield Positioning Locks

The Bottom Line
This is an awesome helmet. For the price, you're unlikely to find a SNELL-certified helmet with such comfort and aerodynamics.

FULL REVIEW
I have had generally good results with HJC CL-SP helmet. Having ridden in a wide range of conditions, I have come across some weaknesses that are noteworthy.

We were so impressed with the combination of value and features on the HJC CL-14 helmet that we recently cited it as one of our "Best Motorcycle Products of 2005".

webBikeWorld visitors wanted us to follow up with an evaluation of the "new for 2006" CL-SP, the latest helmet in HJC's CL series, so here it is.

totalmotorcycle.com-User Opinion of HJC CL-SP

HJCCLSPBRBWRMC5F-2T.jpg

I am thinking of replacing my current helmet with a new one. I went in thinking price was no object, but with the firm intention to evaluate the helmets based only on quality, feel, and fit. The HJC CL SP seemed to rival the $500 helmets in the important categories. Anyway what do you all think of HJC CL SPs? any of you have them, are they noisy, does the air flow well, does the visor continue to work smoothly?

I welcome all opinions and experiences. Thanks.

HJC CL-SP Review

HJCCLSPCNDYRD-2.jpg

The HJC CL-SP has received many good reviews from those I’ve spoke with. The fact that the helmet is both Snell and DOT approved makes for a good selling point, in addition to some fantastic features the helmet offers.

As with many of the other HJC helmets, the CL-SP boasts the quality and craftsmanship we’ve come to expect. The air vents in this helmet are simple, but let in a good amount of air flow. Seems the ‘keep it simple’ mentality worked for them in designing this helmet. Again, the face shield snaps into 4 positions and is pretty secure. There’s no need to worry that the shield will slam closed when riding at high speeds. HJC’s anti-fog visor seems to be one of the best on the market; it really does keep the visor clear.

The helmet is pretty lightweight and comfortable compared other helmets, though everyone will have their own opinion on that. This helmet seems shaped for more round heads, so those with oval heads may not feel that this is the most comfortable option for them.

Overall, another good helmet from HJC.
