Our HJC AC-12 Carbon fiber helmet finally arrived! We first reported on this helmet during our live webcast from the 2006 Powersports Dealer Expo in Indianapolis, held in February.

We had a nice conversation with George Hong, the President of HJC America, Inc. at the Indy show. The helmet was just about to go into production at that time and as soon as the show was over, we placed an order with an online dealer, assuming the helmet would arrive in a few weeks.

The AC-12 Carbon full face motorcycle helmet is made from true Carbon Fiber materials. Carbon Fiber materials are known for their strength, durability, and light-weight, that is why HJC has chosen the most technological advanced Carbon Fiber materials for the new AC-12 Carbon full face helmet.

HJC AC-12 carbon review.

Well after a few months waiting, I finally got the new HJC AC-12 carbon fiber helmet. I’ve had it on back order with the Helmet Shop in Daytona for a few months. Most places are selling it between $349 and $399. Helmet shop had the cheapest price out of any place I checked. I’ve dealt with them in the past on my last helmet and other gear purchases, and had nothing but outstanding service, so it was an easy decision to buy from them again.

Carbon Fiber and the Motorcycle Helmet
Carbon fiber motorcycle helmets are one of the most modern helmets around. The carbon fiber material used in motorcycle helmets refer to carbon filament threads woven into cloth or felt. It can also be a composite material made from carbon filaments that make up the protective shell of your helmet. This material can also be combined with another material such as Kevlar in the manufacture of stronger and lighter helmet models.

This is one of HJC’s best helmets. Made from Carbon Fiber, this helmet is super lightweight and very durable. As with many other HJC helmets, the AC-12 features easy to change face shields, and a comfortable fit. This helmet is also available in two shell sizes.

The helmet sports an Aqua-Trans liner which is moisture wicking, removable and washable. This, in addition to the venting system helps to keep the rider cool on hot days. The helmet also boasts a built in communication cavity speaker system.
